Wow. I COMPLETELY need to try this. I'm not too attached to my Converses either, so it's worth a try. Does this work on high tops also? It's a really good idea...is there anywhere with a more in depth tutorial for really lame beginning people (like me)?

Haha, yeah. They are way expensive nowdays too! But i have a pair of fake cons i think im gonna try this with. but add hot pink piping to the top and a mary jane strap!  Cheesy

I'm not sure what your trying to say..leave the tounge/grommets, but cut the sides out? Wouldnt that look kinda..weird?

no i meant remove the tongue like surfergrl does, but lace up to the top. it was just a thought. i have no idea what i'm talking about. plus, it kind of depends on you style... Undecided

I left the tounge of my shoe in so i can pull it out at work and protect my feet (autobody repair shop) but i plan on using the grommet part as part of a small corset or something, theyre pretty sturdy & well made, no sense in wasting them!
