well it looks like the scissors have! well i never really wore my cons that much so i decided that hacking them up wouldn't completely kill me! i just cut off the shoe string parts and folded the tongue part under..i also used a seam ripper and took out all of the white stitch...i'm heading to michael's later to get ribbon to line the top b/c as you can see..i didn't do a terrific job cutting and its fraying..so i hope you like them! comments are appreciated! Wink

EDIT
here are some new pics after i added the bias tape and kinda painted the silver grommets black too!

i might decorate them a little more too!

*******************************************************
thanks! sorry the pics are kinda blurry! Tongue

*EDIT*
here is a really crummy tutorial..please ask any questions if you have them..i can understand that you may have them as this tutorial isn't the best...

1.
first take the laces out and cut along the black line above the seams on the side..save the first grommet so cut around it (and ignore the words on the top! Tongue)

2. then take the tongue of the shoe and cut it in half...you can use a hot glue gun and fold the raw edge over to however far you want the top part to come out

3. bust out your seam ripper and rip all the white stitching out...on the back as well!

4. then once all the stitching is taken out..you'll notice on the sides that its got a point sticking out, go ahead and cut a more round edge so its all one even line! also, hot glue the grommet at the top down to the tongue

5. you can use a hot glue gun or fray stuff and put it along the raw edges on top of the shoe so that way they aren't all frayed and messy like mine! or add ribbon along the edges to cover up

6. embellish away..i hot glued on two hearts made of felt! you could stencil w/e you want!

those are cute!  you know, if you put some grommets on the outside of the shoe to match the "sweat holes" on the arch, you could run ribbons across and make them like maryjanes!\

Those are very cute! Did you try fray check to stop the canvas from fraying anymore? Those have some great potential as far as getting even more creative!

snazzy. I don't think I;d cut mine up. We've been through too much together. Besides, I have really flat and narrow feet so they probably wouldn't stay on.

Now the wintertime is coming,
The windows are filled with frost.
I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you
When your train gets lost.

I have no freedom, how do you feel?
