okay. so i deff made one of this.
its really big tho.
it can hold two 1 inch binders and a school book
with room to spare.
i love it, i took it to skewl today
and got a bunch of compliments. =)
well yea. so for anyone wondering
how to make it stronger just stick cardboard in between it
and add another layer.
and i got canvas straps and d rings and it works like a charm.
thanks for the idea.

it really only ends up taking about 4 hrs total... and i am a movie freak so its really fun 2 just sit down and craft while being told a story and watching it....its become a mindless task like knitting

I made mine into a folder - Sun magazine - so it's all in black and white - kinda Edward Goreyesque!
I tooke the staples out and used the whole page.
I folded the strips in half and then folded each side in half again - to the inside
I wove it and then I put the contact paper on after it was woven together.
I also used a glue stick as I was weaving to help keep it square.
It seems REALLY sturdy because there were more folds and it ended up being thicker. I think putting on the contact paper after helped somewhat as well.
I folded the bottom part up so that the sides of the folder aren't fastened, but I wasn't sure standard paper would fit if I had closed the sides of the folder!
Best - Selkie

for the straps you could just take a piece of magazine all folded up like you did to weave it and put it on the magazine weave BEFORE you tape it all together. so that it's all taped into the same layer. does that make sense? when I get around to doing this I'll try it and let you know how it goes :-D I think I'll prolly make a larger tote sized one.. I need more of those for school.
awesome job btw
