Hello, everyone.  I have been getting inspiration from Craftster for months now, but this is my first post.  Generally, I am pleased with how this top turned out and I thought you guys might like it.  I got the idea from lemonadelemonade's asymmetrical lace-up top, but I cheated and used a pattern, too.  Smiley  It's New Look 6340, but I had to alter it for the lacing, of course.  The red silk came from a badly-shaped thrift store dress.  The black (faux) silk is from Wal-Mart.  I will probably make a little black tube from the same material to wear under it, as it gapes open horrendously near the top.  That's why there are no pictures of me wearing it.  Let me know what you think!

First you will come to the Sirens who enchant all who come near them. If any one unwarily draws in too close and hears the singing of the Sirens, his wife and children will never welcome him home again, for they sit in a green field and warble him to death with the sweetness of their song.

Thanks for the nice comments, you guys.

did you use a pattern

Yes, but I didn't follow it exactly.  It was supposed to zip on the side and the front middle part was originally only one piece.  Instead of adding a zipper, I just made the zig-zag down the middle and added the eyelets.
