Our old phone wasn't working too well so we got a new one.  I asked my dad if I could use the old phone for something  and he said yes.  Any ideas for what to do with it?  I also have the...erm...chargin g thing it sits on when not in use.  I cannot for the life of me think of anything I could do with either of these two things.

Well, I do know that you can tear the phone apart.  Lots of great stuff for jewelry and decoration in there, and you can pop out the numbers that way as well.

You could make a secret compartment for money, etc.  Take out the electronic bits and baubles but keep the numbers in so that it looks just like a real working phone.  Just pop the back off for storage.

The charger could be made into some kind of holder for an object not stable on its own, for example a globe or crystal ball, or could be made into a decorative stand, for say a doll or action figure.  Decorate as desired.
