i don't have any before pictures of this but you can imagine - it was just your standard brown wood coffee table. i painted it pink and cut the photos of actresses out of a book. (can you believe that my friend and i found about 20 or 30 books in someone's garbage that were all about movies and full of 20's-60's actors and actresses pictures like these!!) I used modpodge to glue them down then i put about 4 or 5 layers on top then sealed it with clear acrylic spray paint. now i can look at these lovely ladies every day from my couch.

Lovely!! I want to do a bathroom one day covered with pin-ups but this has put another slant on it - great combination of pink & balck. Yum!

that is fabulous....I love black and white pinup and 50 style photos and such.  I am thinking of redoing my living room with a pin up flair.  Thanks for the idea.

That is absolutley stunning. And what an incredibly lucky find those books must have been. I'm impressed, and quite inspired. I say, jolly good show!

thats awesome!

I did something really really similar to this a few years ago, for my Photographic Arts final project in grade 12.

I made the table myself (basic design, looks like something youd buy at ikea, but a bit sturdier) and covered the top with my black and white photography (all hand printed). my only problem is that I used outdoor modge-podge, and sometimes when you set things down on the table they stick. over the years this has sort of ruined the table with little bits of dust and paper, I never got around to putting a piece of plexiglass over it, or varnishing it like I intended to. it seems that you were a lot smarter!!!!

ps. I used boring black, the pink looks ten times better!

mine was still a little bit tacky even after sealing it, but over time from things sitting on it the tacky-ness has worn off.
