I made this for my sister as a gift. The outside is covered in far too many buttons (hand sewn, ouch) and the lining fabric is a comicstrip-esque stuff from the fabric store. I used an old clutch handle from the thrift store.

now I can always push my sisters buttons. or something lame like that.

it took me soooo long to sew the buttons on. four hours, I think. Being the super smart person that I am, I originally glued the buttons on...then proceeded to peel them and the hardened glue off when I realized that that was a not so good idea. my fingers were sore for days. not to mention the bleeding.

It's gorgeous, though! I'll bet your sister loved it!

I can't believe you sewed on that many buttons! I wish I was your sister! Where'd you get that many grey buttons? I keep trying to find large amounts of buttons, but I can only find brown, which is boring. Glad you mentioned glue not working though, maybe I don't need buttons after all....

WOW.   Shocked  That is so uberfantasticallyaw esome.  It only took four hours to sew all those buttons on?  I just adore that lining fabric, too.  Where did you find all those buttons in the same shades?  (I'm a closet button feak, haha  Grin)
Man, I'd be bowled over to get something like that from my nonexistant sister!!
