This is on my list... if I ever finish my corset pullover... maybe in January...I can knit and dream of warm enough weather to wear this!

Kathyruth that is a gorgeous color on you!

I know I'm a little late to the party, but here's my version of the Modesitt Silk corset:

I used the ArtYarns Regal Silk called for in the pattern, but much less (I think it was only about 2.25 hanks of it) and I didn't change colour at the bottom of the corset.  I made it a tad small, and blocked it farther than I've blocked before.  (I know silk will stretch, so making it a bit smaller was the plan anyhow).  I used some silk ribbon to tie up the front instead of buttons.  All I did for that mod was make button holes on the other side of the button edge, to match the ones called for in the pattern.  I loved making this so much, I'm making another! (check out my blog for more pics) Wish me luck Smiley

That's gorgeous!

I'm so glad you bumped this thread, too.  I was looking for my next summer project, and I think this is it   Grin

canarysanctuary I love your version! The yellow is georgous!  After seeing this thread bumped I realized I never posted a pic of my own finished corset...

Knit with Knitpicks Shine worsted, size medium (I think I could have used a small) knit on US 4 circs.

Yours is beautiful, AWynkoop!
And, I hope you do choose this as your summer project, badbadrubberpiggy.  It's a fun knit, and for the entirely selfish reason of me wanting to see more people's versions of it Smiley

I've already bought the pattern, and I've spent most of my free time this morning poking around the 'net, looking at possible yarn choices!

I know I want something summery, so I want to stick with silk or maybe a silk/cotton blend, and not a wool blend.

Bamboo might be nice...hmmmm...Sara h's Yarns has a new bamboo line that would probably work.

I've never used bamboo, but have heard rave reviews.  If you choose it, definitely let us know how it goes!

As a newbie at knitting and on Craftster, I found this pattern at:
http://www.anniemodesitt.com/patterns/index.html#Corset

and couldn't help but purchase it - now it is time to find a yarn suitable.  In the mean time, I almost started the same thread, but luckily found this one from 2005 Smiley

So... time to bump this up to the top and find some knitting buddies for this project (may take me a lot longer since I have a 1 year old and I'm pregnant with another due at the end of September).

To recap pictures of other people's finished projects so we all know what we're looking at in one post,

Look forward to this Knitalong-revived!
