Does anyone know where to find a good hood and scarf pattern?  I found one online once where the pieces were knit spearately and then knit together, but I can't find it again.  If there is a pattern in a book that would be great too, because I would go get it.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Here's another that's really simple...

It's just a basic scarf that's seamed to form the hood.

Knit 2 Together, by Tracey Ullman and Mel Clark, has a hood/scarf pattern that is really cute.  And the purchase of the book wouldn't be a waste...lots of cute patterns.

Thank you all!  I had seen those patterns, but they weren't quite what I was looking for.  I think I will get Knit2Together, I saw it at a bookstore and they have a lot of cute stuff and that's probably where I got the idea.  In the end, I decided just to start knitting the hood in the garter stitch and decrease it as I think is needed to get a hood.  I am probably going to try and attach the hood and the scarf with some sort of seam or maybe put buttons on the bottom of the hood and button holes in the back of the scarf.  What do you think of those ideas?  I'm nervous about this not working out.

I forgot the book, but there was a "little red riding hood scarf" and all you do is just knit a scarf and then in the middle place some buttons and then a bit farther down some loops. That way you can wear it as a plain scarf, and if you want to make it into a hood you just button it up. It looked super cute in the book, hope that makes sense.

The "little red riding hood scarf" is from Hollywood Knits, and I know because I drool over this book everytime I'm at the book store...but I just can't spend that much on a book that has only one must-make pattern....sigh
