A friend asked me to decorate a cake for her two year old daughter and brought me a 1970s Wilton cake pan of Count Von Count from Sesame Street. She asked if I could make him look "not so high", as he did on the pan's instructions.  Cheesy

He looks blue in my picture, but I swear he's a lovely shade of violet.

And the instructions from 1977:

Oh my god!  I love it!  My mom made me a Bert & Ernie cake in that style for (probably) my fourth birthday.  I asked for it again as adult when she found the pan in storage.  Cheesy  You really did a wonderful job!  I know all those frosting dots take forever.  He definitely looks a lot less high. Cheesy

Thanks so much, everyone! It was nice to decorate a cake, something I haven't done in a while, and now I remember how fun it is.

JoyfulClover, I cut out a piece of plastic from some packaging and ran a line of frosting round the edge. Easy!

Tee hee!
The shading on the face is so excellent.
Ok, tell me what the monocle is made of. Is it a real one or... edible?
