Hi I have 2 cents to add.  Not all people who work with clay are potters.  I say we have a ceramics board (I know that is high faluten, and not all potters call themselves ceramicists and vice versa, but clay is a medium in it's own right).  Not all who work with clay choose to make "house wares".  Thanks...

that's true..   but I don't think that all things thrown on a wheel are neccessarily "house wares"... I throw things and alter them all of the time for sculptural pieces..  as well as jewelry and knobs for things and what not...

Yes Please! I'd love a pottery board! I do try searching through the boards for pottery but not everyone labels their work as such. IE: A recent post was written as "Raku Bowl" or I've done one with "Ceramics". It would make things way easier to be able ot view it all on one place.  Smiley

I think it would be great! I also made some ceramics - cannot anymore, but I loved it. I posted something in Miscellaneous and it got totally buried. (No wonder, nothing special, but still - in ceramics board it might have got some responses... Roll Eyes) And I love looking at such objects! Grin

I would totally support a Ceramics board!  I used to throw right after I graduated college, and would love some inspiration to get me going again.  I bet there are more than a few potters/ceramicists around here who are puzzled by the lack of a board...it made me wonder when I first joined Craftster.

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's me with some yarn on my head.

Yes!! I would love to see a pottery/ceramics board as well. I thought I posted my 2 cents but maybe that was on the other thread I saw. So please count this as  my vote for a pottery board!

This thread is pretty old - There is a bigger ceramics board request thread here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170834.0

Maybe the two threads could be merged?

There are a ton of ceramics threads scattered all around craftster. It'd be nice to have them all in one spot. For instance, searching "ceramics" brings up almost 500 posts. Searching "pottery -"pottery barn" -harry" Wink brings up around 600. I don't really get why there isn't a forum.  Huh

I'll volunteer to moderate, if that's what you need! I'll move all the threads in, too.  Grin please oh please oh please A ceramics forum at craftster would be so rockin'!!
