My friend's surprise 17th birthday party is tomorrow, and I had this yard-ish of clearance sequiny fabric, so I decided to make her a blanket (logical, the middle of July, but anyway).  So I went to Wal-Mart and got some blanket binding and black fleece.  Now it's not really a full size blanket, more of a lap-robe.  I don't really know anyone who actually uses lap-robes anymore, but it's very nice for sitting at the computer and probably for bus rides as well.  It kind of reminds me of that glove or sock of Michael Jackson's back in the day (I forget which it was)  Anyway, in all its imperfect glory:

i like it! that would be a great craft project for a retirement home.  you know those people are still craft crazy like we are! they are just trapped in their aging bodies! something like this would really give them a smile!

Tongue Aww that's so sweet of you! My 17th is in two weeks, and I would be pretty amazed if one of my friends went to that much effort! She's a lucky gal! XxXxX
