record earring holder

I stole this idea from someone else around here, it's fabulous and easy and completely organized my disaster of an earring bowl!
yay! Just heat up a thick needle or huge safety pin in a candle flame and start poking holes.
(also, this is my first craft ever posted on craftster, because I just found you guys.)

hahah I have 3 holes in each ear, so that requires a lot of earrings to keep things interesting.

I remember that topic -- I saw it and had to try it too, so I ran down to the basement and found a lovely picture record --- but it seems my record wasn't vinyl at all, but rather a hard plastic. So I ended up breaking out the drill -- I'll have to edit and add pictures later, I love mine because of the lovely vintage-y art on it.

Thanks! I used some children's record called Little Pedro or something from my mom's kindergarten class. It came in a really cute record sleeve that I'm trying to think of something to do with now. It has an illustration of a little mexican boy with a donkey. It's cute, but old and made of thin paper. Anyone have any good ideas?

What a fantastic idea! I'm forever breaking necklace chains and losing the charms because all my jewellery is just stuffed in a little plastic container.

Now I will have to adapt this.

I saw this adapted somewhere else on here for necklaces.
I think the girl who did it heated up nails, stuck them through just enough, and held them there until the vinyl hardens around the nail and keeps it in place. That way you have little pegs to hang things on!
