Modified because I wanted my sleeves less puffy than the original...knock-off because after finding the same lacy leaf pattern in an old knitting stitch book, I thought that I would try to make it as just a basic top down raglan...result - a rusted root knock-off that i LOVE  Smiley

anyway we could persuade you to post the lace pattern from that book? i'd like to use it to modifiy a pattern i have too. or if you don't want to post the lace pattern, maybe if it had a name and i could google it? pretty please?

i love this top, it's adorable! i stay away from patterns with puff sleeves mostly, i guess i never thought to just change the pattern to exclude puffy sleeves. (puffy sleeves make me look like a foot ball player.)

Oh it did help, only that book is now worth a ton! Well, maybe not a ton but still more than I can afford to spend on a knitting book without risking total relationship melt down when my boyfriend gets the credit card bill. Smiley It looks pretty close to the pattern the branching out scarf from knitty uses, i can probably figure it out.

Thanks for giving me the book name though, I'll keep an eye out at second hand stores from now on, just in case.

Hee, I considered making a knockoff too, but I loved the poofy sleeves, so I bought the pattern just for those sleeves.

Your version looks lovely!

actually, i was doing the same thing, because i didn't like the puffy sleeves either. thanks for posting your finished photos... it's inspiring me to finish mine Smiley

razorsharp, i was using the lace pattern used in the "pea pod baby set", a free interweave pattern. [ http://www.interweaveknits.com/freepatterns/children.asp ]

hopefully that will help you out!
