I just got my copy of this book by Melissa Leapman in the mail yesterday.  I think it's just great!  I don't know what one I'll do first but I like them all.  Even though I enjoy the challenge of designing things myself, sometimes it's nice to just sit and follow a pattern, so I'm so glad to see such a good fashion crochet book with patterns sized to fit me!  I haven't tried any of the patterns yet, so I can't speak to accuracy, but just on the basis of looks and inspiration I would definately recommend this book.  Has anyone completed any projects from it?  Anyone else have it?

I don't have it, but I've been lusting after it for a while, so I'd love to hear what the Craftster crowd thinks of it too!  I'm always looking for books to spend money on, but I have been trying to show a little uncharacteristic restraint ...

I've seen it too and thought it was a well put together book. The patterns were lovely. I have it on my wishlist. Let us know if you do make something from it.

I'm just wondering if you guys ever made projects from this book. I am borrowing it from the library right now, and I really want to make something!

Hi - I just started working on the clutch purse in Cool Crochet.  It worked up quickly and looks great but the instructions get vague at the point where you sew the fabric lining to the purse.  Does anyone know how to sew fabric to crochet?  I've never done it before and am wondering if it needs to be done by hand or can you do it on a machine?  Thanks!  Marie in NYC

I would suggest constructing the lining with the machine and then sewing it into the purse by hand.  You would press down a hem along the top edge, and then slip stich the fabric to the crochet.  Use a fine needle and sewing thread, and don't bring the thread all the way out to the outside of the crochet, pass the needle and thread through the middle of the crochet, like when you bury yarn ends.
