 Lovely idea,

think hubby will mind if I use his neck ties for this one??

Here is a tampon box organiser I made....

now all we need to do is figure out what to do
with those pesky little wrappers and we have it all covered.

Well I went to garage sales this morning and found some really cute men's ties.  Some are Loony Toons.  I thought that would make a cute cozy.

Question....  How much of the tie did you cut?  I hate to ask but I've had a hysterectomy so I don't use these anymore but would like to make some for friends and my daughters friends.  Thanks!

I cut the tie off at about 16" (from the pointed end)...then put an overlock stitch on the raw edge to prevent unraveling...turned this edge under about 1/4" and stitched.  I attached the velcro pieces before stitching the sides (you could also use snaps).  Since the piece that folds forward is more narrow than the backside, I chose to let the front piece be my stitching guide (keeping 1/4" seam allowance).  This allows enough room for 2-3 tampons inside.

I have a bunch of the Looney Toons ties, too...and had planned to make these for gifts, also!  Great minds...LOL!

Please post yours when you're finished!

Thank you for the instructions!

I don't know how soon I'll get to make one.  I just started making the Jordy bags and now 2 people want me to make them one too.  But as soon as I make one I'll post it for you to see.

I think a pearl snap (like you see on old western shirts) would look good on one.  I wonder if I can find those at Hobby Lobby or something?

I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you

Ohhhh...a fellow Smiths devotee!  I like you already.  I think my kiddos probably think I'm weird...and eccentric...and very immature for my longer-in-the-tooth age!

You know, when I first read this post I thought it was some sort of super crafty neck wearing accessory for stashing a tampon!  No need to grab anything...lol

Hmmm...now I think I'm getting an idea.

I thought exactly the same thing when I read  the post!

Oh my, I'm going to make one of these right now! I've got plenty of ties I never wear, I just buy because I like the pattern and figure it could make a good belt or something; Now i've got too many belts. Also, I'm the girl who always has to sheepishly ask my more responsible friends if they have any tampons at school, because I always forget.

I had a science teacher last year who who liked The Smiths. The first day of class I came in with a Sisters of Mercy shirt on and we talked and traded cds throughout the whole year sinse then. Of course it didn't help my grade, it was just so much fun having a teacher I could talk with about music! The next year I got into an arts highschool, and go there now. That teacher is one of the only things I miss from my old school.
