I bought these wonderful jeans when I spent a summer in Madrid. While it is lovely there, I lost about 15 homesick pounds and looked totally emaciated. Once I was back to healthy, normal me-size, nothing I bought there fit any more.

So....

The patchwork is made from really rich, velvety upholstery fabrics.

I always get compliments on these, and its a nice way to salvage stuff that doesn't fit anymore. Enjoy.

Oh, those look beautiful! Were they terribly difficult to do? I would love to give that a try some time.

i like that they're patched instead of just one long strip, that's really creative

Great save! I love the patchwork fabric strip too. I reconstructed some jean shorts this way for my granddaughter, and they turned out really cute. Actually, I thought I invented this method. LOL!

They are sooo easy- just rip out the side seams on your pants, figure out how much wider you want them to be, and cut out piece of fabrics that wide, plus seam allowances. sew 'em into a long strip and then into your pants, and voila! Grin
