This is a top I pieced together for a crib quilt for my friends' new baby.  The theme is sock monkeys (good and unisex!).  I used a variety of fabrics from the same collection.  If you look closely, you'll see that some have polka dots, some have bananas, and some have stripes.  The border has the monkeys' yearbook headshots, and the backing-to-be (the chartreuse fabric) has flying monkeys!  Very busy and colorful--good visual stimuli for a newborn, they say.

Granted, this isn't a "finished project" since it still needs to be quilted together, but I thought I'd share anyway...   Smiley

Adorable! Anything sock monkey related is always a good thing.
I never got to have a sock monkey when I was a kid, (can you believe that?) Mom thought they were ugly. I found them kind of scary, but fascinating...now I find them irresistible, and your quilt is something I would love to see on my bed!
That banana fabric is a perfect match.

That's amazing. Smiley Now the baby will require a sock monkey. Where did you get the sock monkey fabric?

Where did you get the sock monkey fabric?

I found a few of them (like the bananas and yearbook prints) at my local quilt shop, which is City Quilter in Manhattan.  But they didn't have the all colors and designs I wanted.  So I noted the name and designer of the collection (Funky Monkey by Max&Nobie for Moda) and went looking online.  I had to shop a few different websites, but eventually I got what I wanted.

Thanks for all the positive feedback y'all!   Smiley

So pretty! Your design is great too.   I love the sock monkey fabric and made a rag quilt with that fabric in flannel and backed it with denim.
