I've noticed a few people expressing an interest in trying out altered books, myself being one of them. I've never altered a book before  but i thought it would be nice if  we could share pctures of our progress and pass on tips and tricks re techniques.

Would anybody be interested in this sort of thing?

i'd like to do this. i just found a slew of old books and i thought it might be a nice ongoing project of mine. it'd be nice to have people to share techniques and ideas with.

So, looks like there is only four of us so far, but i guess that makes it nice and intimate!

I suppose i will start a new thread in this forum cos that seems like the most sensible way of doing things! I'm going to try and take some pictures of the little bits of work i have done so far and will upload them to the thread Smiley
It would be great if you guys could do the same and then we can discuss techniques and stuff Smiley

Hi! Ive never done an altered book before, but have always loved the idea. Im also yet to post a project of mine on craftster. so perhaps this will be the first?
I have to dig up a book that is suitable for working on first, so I guess it depends on that. I am currently jobless and have tons of free time, but NO money. so, hopefully I find one around here I can use!

so, I guess I'll play!
now I need to come up with a theme...hrm.

I like the idea of this. I have never done one before but thought I would love to use a childrens book. It iwll be a while before I can join in though.

my problem is trying to find a short book. i have these great old books but they're all lengthy novels and i want my first to be pretty short so it's not too overwhelming. are you guys planning to use novels or something shorter? just curious as to what everyone else is doing.

Ive come across the same problem. I am going to my mom's house tommorrow, and I am going to look for trashed childrens books, because she has a daycare. I think that would be the best length for me to start with. I dont know about anyone else, but I am a perfectionist, and if I dont like how a project is going I get frustrated, and often abandon it or do something else....so the smaller I start the better. I always have such high expectations with the ideas in my head, and then when i try to express them i get rather pissed at myself for not being able to properly convey it in reality.
ah well, I suppose there are millions of artists like this!

id say find a childrens book, and we can do something the same length!
