I made the following pendant as a quick study break this afternoon...I should be studying non-stop but my precious little kitty (for whom my shop is named) is lost and I'm going completely crazy. But here it is:
It's all repurposed stuff from jewelry I bought and took apart. The glass has some bubbling and inclusions in it. I really love how it came out, despite it's being so simple, and I sort of half want to keep it. Any thoughts on pricing for a non-sterling item like this? Does anyone even BUY base metal jewelry on Etsy?
wo

I LOVE it...so simple and sweet! I'm not very good with prices either, but i would charge $20-30. I'm sure there would be people that would buy base metal jewelry...but i would definitely price it at least $20...depending on what it cost to make of course..if it doesn't fly...you can always lower the price.

Nessa- I would go with what your husband was saying. That amount of time and only sell it for 20-30 that would be bad! I worked on my Slice bag for like 10 hours trying to figure out how to make it and I didn't have a choice but to sell it for $60, I was reluctant b/c I wasn't sure if people bought bags that expensive, well, it sold today!!! Your craftmanship is amazing from the photos, I would stick at 50, don't go lower than 45.

I love that necklace! I think 20-30 for it. I've purchased metal jewelry for that much at least. It's really beautiful.

I'm going to search the forums for this but I thought that I would ask anyway. I sold my slice bag today and the paypal email hasn't come yet. I'm not really sure what to do at this stage. When do I send the bag? I read on etsy that everyone sends it after paypal confirms the payment successfully went through, but doesn't that take days? Not sure please tell me what to do Embarrassed

It hasn't yet sunk in that I sold the bag. I think it will when I actually send it b/c then panic will set in when I realize I don't know if I remember how to make another one!
Thanks for the help (in advance)

the old etsy shop. isn't doing so well,

I put my prices up cause it just wasn't working out with the time I put into the beaded hair flowers, and now no customers  Sad

Janaina...thanks for the advice...and kind words.

as for that slice bag...WOW...that was a beauty...and if you worked 10 hours on it, then you  SOOO deserve $60 for the bag...I would have paid that! Grin  I hope you remember how to make another...what I always do is I save my old calendars and use them to make patterns for new bags...I also have a little note book that I scribble all my notes in as I'm going along, so I can go back and revise them when I am done the bag...and I can make a pattern from what I have in the book...you might want to try that sometime, so you can quickly make another bag if needed instead of trying to remember everything.  Don't mean to preach...just wanted to share one of my little tips with you.

As for the paypal...DO NOT send out the bag until you have payment. From what I remember...paypal won't actually send you an e-mail.  The buyer will receive an e-mail with a link so that they can pay right away. Or if you need to adjust shipping or anything like that then you can log into your paypal account and request payment from the person who bought the bag. You should have their e-mail, from the purchase... I think thats how it goes...I have only sold 4 things so far and some were trade and some cash...only one paypal.

Good luck
NessaGurl

**And congrats on selling your bag**

Olilo--I second the never send anything until you're paid for it.  There have been lots of so-called buyers who click the buy now but never pay or contact you, possibly hoping you'll be foolish enough to send the item out anyway.  And I get emails from paypal whenever I receive or make a payment, so you should probably get one, too.

Elmonerd-those flower pins are adorable.  Not my style, personally, but someone should buy them.

Yeah, I got an email when I had my first sale, from paypal, but that was from my brother and sister-in-law who bought booties for my WHOLE inspiration to make baby booties, my niece Chloe. Love her, ahhhhhh, anyway, I got an email confirming the purchase from my brother, but I haven't gotten one from the bag yet. Wondering if it has to do with Good Friday. Are banks open? or maybe she didn't complete the transaction? Should I email her and ask her if she completed it correctly?
thanks

If they don't pay right away...can you not request payment from paypal?? Just wondering...I can't remember.  Although I don't understand why people don't pay right away...I always do, unless shipping has to be modified...then I wait for a statement...

Hopefully they will pay soon....
