Re: pricing...yeah it's tricky...and I comment on it all the time, but I'll try to add something new to the discussion Smiley

I have recently been diversifying my offerings so that I can have items posted across a broader range of prices.  In general though, both before I did that, and after (so far), price doesn't seem to have much bearing on what sells in my shop.  I do think lesser priced items sell more frequently on Etsy though, but that makes sense to me, I mean it's easier for people to buy more lesser priced items.

In general just make sure you're charging for your materials, and paying yourself something for your time...

I love the owls.

I just set up an etsy shop, and managed to post one thing before my digital camera died.  So now I'm tapping my feet waiting for the batteries to charge.

psyche, I kind of feel like a broken record, but do you think you could work on trying to increase your photo quality.  It's kind of hard to get an idea of the quality of work if the photos are blurry.  Do you have a macro setting on your camera for close-ups?  I think that you have cute things and great prices, so the sales will come.  Did you spread the word among all that you know that you have an online shop?  I think that that helps to get your views up and then when people see your store, the sales follow.  Etsy is kind of hard that way since no one will find you just by browsing, usually.

Also, try to update often even if it's one or two things.  That is one of the keys.

Good luck.  Don't worry, things will happen and when it does, it feels great! Smiley

Well to throw my penny into the ring (or something... my cliches are all coming together into one giant cliche today), my Etsy shop has been open for a couple months, and I've sold nothing at all Sad

Today I added a couple more items, decreased a bit of the shipping, and injected the descriptions with a bit of my personality.... It should make things more interesting to read, but what about selling? If anyone has a chance, check out my shop and give me any constructive criticisms!

Well, the one thing I noticed is that you're not getting hits to your shop.  I haven't sold anything either, but I'm getting a lot more traffic.  I wonder why that is.  Not sure which is worse though, getting traffic and not selling, or not getting traffic and not selling.  I've been on only 5 weeks and I've had over 800 views to my shop.

It's hard to get good pictures.  I do think your main thing is getting the word out.   Don't give up!

Hi psyche
Your bio is good, it gives people a sense of who you are.
I do think you need to add more description to your items though.  The lip gloss looks cute, but you don't say too much about it and what is in it.
