i made my first sale this morning!
i'm so excited!

it's inspired me to add paypal next week - in talking with some other shopgirls, i realized  it might be easier to sell things - i know i make lots of impulse buys at work with my debit card...  Wink so now others can do the same at my shop.

I actually sold something!  Surprisingly, it sold to a person who lives in the same city as me, but who I've never met.  Strange.  But good!

Congrats sarawearsskirts and nevermore thats awsome! I agree paypay is a good idea and you really dont pay that huge of a fee to use it unless your canadian like me but its still not a huge price on selling something for $20 they take 88cents.

I should have taken care of this by now but....if I'm accepting PayPal on Etsy, I have to set up a PayPal account right? When I do that, do I select the personal account on PayPal? If I'm not making any sense, can someone forget what I've asked and explain it to me?   Roll Eyes

I signed up for a business account (select this option in the sign up) because it allows you to accept credit and debit card purchases. I dont think the personal one does. Being canadian I think you are too right? You pay 2.9%+55cents canadian per transaction if your making under 3,000 a month (dont we all wish we werent!) so for me to sell my slippers for 15 plus 5.00 for 20.00 total s&h I am charged 88cents cad. I dont know if this is any help to you Im not so good at explaining things. But also remember people are paying you in US funds and its converted by pay pal when its put into your account.

you can use a personal account until someone wants to pay you with a credit card.
you can't accept credit cards with a personal account.
you have to upgrade to business or premiere and they will take out .30 + 2.9% of each transaction, credit card or not.
