Hi, just a quick note about this thread I love seeing people put in their pics it breaks up the text it's great. I try to read everyone's posts but I can't stay afloat! so i've added a pic of my new stuff too.

from http://stylishcrafts.etsy.com

the old etsy shop. isn't doing so well,

I put my prices up cause it just wasn't working out with the time I put into the beaded hair flowers, and now no customers  Sad

Oh well, I suppose I'd have to put more time into it.

Love seeing all your guys sites!!!

Elmonerd, the key to this whole thread!  Thanks for starting it eons ago. Smiley

I love those hair flowers--very beautiful.  Perhaps the no customers thing is due more to marketing than prices.  I don't see you much on the forums.  Try posting there once or twice and see what happens.  Smiley

Nessagurl- I love the reversible messenger bag.  It looks really well made and is such a great idea.
I think you should charge $50 for it for sure.  It looks like a great bag and I think you could get that.

have you thought about expanding (sorta) and making beaded flowers and selling them as supplies, like embellishments?

You guys have the CUTEST little kitties!  Congrats on that first sale Olilo...I knew you'd sell something soon!  I have a question for you all.  I have some crocheted flower pins in my shop, and I was thinking about putting some on hair elastics.  A friend of mine told me I should make the flowers in kid-like colors instead, because she didn't think adults would be interested in something like that.  What do you think?

Sock,  The sock knitting bag is glorious.  Love the hidden pocket.  Sometimes I get confused - but if I get it right the first one is for a paying customer?  And you got the idea from her and now will make more of that style bag to sell?  $35 sounds good as your bags look so well sewn, great color combos and highly individualized - am wondering if there is some way to reward your customer - by doing a reduced price or adding a small bag to match with her order only and letting her know it is a special thank you for her because of the inspiration to create this.  Just a thought.

Grace--I've been thinking about doing that.  The dreamcatcher earrings I posted a while back started with a custom order, and I've since sold 2 more pairs.  I never would have thought to make them without the request, so I've been thinking of offering the original customer a matching necklace or something else.  I'd forgotten about it until you just mentioned it.  I think I'll go send her an email right now...

I had a thought today--I've been getting some trade requests from other etsyians for my mini foods, just as charms--what if I put together one of my little "meals" of 4 charms with findings (earring hooks, jump rings, pins, a chain) and beads as a little "kit"? I know at least one person bought a set of my stitch markers and turned them into earrings, so--why not make it easier?
It's funny how inspiration always blows hottest around exam time...like my brain is trying ANYTHING to get out of studying degenerative diseases and pharmacotherapy of the CNS...
