I heard this story on NPR http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4715960 about a super easy fruit tart about a week ago & I finally got around to trying it last night. Not only is it super easy it is delicious & it also looks like you spent a ton of time & energy on it (think those rice krispie commercials from the early 90's).

Here is how my first tart turned out:

The directions are in the NPR story! I would love to hear if anyone else trys this!!

Nice, flexible recipe.

Even easier: use pre-made pie crust! Even cheaper: sub the mascarpone with cream cheese!

You could also add some of the preserves or liqueur to the cheese part, or melted white chocolate. Mix up the berries and booze separately, and set it on fire/cool slightly before putting on top.
