There's a great St. Vinnie's just off Division on the north end of the city.  You should look in on the Eugene Saturday Market if you plan on being there over the weekend.

I lived in Eugene for 6 years.  Here's my recommendations if it's not too late:

Thrift and Vintage Clothing Stores:
Deluxe - 1331 Willamette St
Antrican - 304 E 13th
Eugene Jeans - 132 E 13th
Nobody's Baby - 365 E 13th

Yarn Store:
2821 Oak St

Book Stores:
Smith Family Bookstore 768 E 13th  (it's upstairs)
another Smith Family is located downtown 525 Willamette

Pretty much all of these (except the Smith Family downtown) are within a long walk of each other up 13th St between U of O and Willamette St.  The University of Oregon bookstore has good art supplies as well in the basement and books on the top floor.  I recommend Deluxe; I go there everytime I'm in town.

Eugene has a lot of good resturants as well and a lot cater to vegetarians and vegans as well.  I like the french toast at Studio One Cafe (1473 E 19th Ave) and the drinks and appetizers at The Lucky Noodle (207 E 5th).  The Lucky Noodle is close to the 5th St Market, which is worth checking out as well.  Some of the little cafes inside are great as well.

Hope this gets to you in time.  If not, maybe it'll be useful for next time.  Smiley

Portland is amazing as well. There's just a lot of DIY and zine resources.

If you're planning on travelling at all afterwards in California, Northern Ca. is all wonderful. Like Big Sur area.
