closing a brand new shop ? what should i do

i started my etsy last week.  i have three items for sale, one of which my dh made.

I named my shop prittypistol.  but i dont like that. i wanted prettypistol, since thats my name on myspace and here too, but it was taken by a shop that has no activity.   

my dh suggested that i open a new shop and name it freepistol ( since our last name starts with "free" )  because he would like to collaborate(sp) with me and sell in the same shop rather than opening two. 

but i dunno what to do now.. freepistol is free on etsy, but i will have to open a new email, and remember to check it... and then mail etsy and tell them to shut down prittypistol.   i would keep it open, but i feel bad about keeping a name i wont be using, in case someone else wants it.

grr my dh is the king of second guessing, not only himself, but everyone else around him.  he has these bright ideas... about 5 minutes too late.

Sounds like your spinning in the details. 
There are some pretty basic questions you need to answer honestly for yourself. 
What name do you want for your shop? 
Do you want the name 'free pistol'?
Do you want to collaborate with your hubby or do you want him to have his own shop?
Do you want to close your shop and start new?
It's simple yes or no's.  Be honest, go with your gut and commit to your choices.
Then take care of the details to make it happen.
You choose.

thanks for your help.  i really needed a level headed outside view of the situation.

i asked myself the questions and it was an easy choice.  i decided i would like to collaborate with my husband, the name was a great fit and since its fairly new, and ive not gotten in deep i would switch shops.

it was easy once i had it broken down.  thanks

Best of luck with your new shop!  I was gonna say, if you're just starting out, now would be the best time to switch to the name you'd like to stick with, rather than waiting a longer while, building up your shop, and then deciding to switch.

I actually did something similar, and it wasn't so bad. I have the user account batgirlibrarian, since batgirl was taken, but it's not a great shop name. I didn't quite realize it would be my URL when I set up Lily Loves Bernie. So I opened a new account with another email address and called it Lily Loves Bernie, and use Batgirlibrarian as my buyer account, and LLB as my seller account. It took a few minutes to recreate the store, but it wasn't too bad. Good Luck with your new shop!!

Cute stuff! 

I was going to mention that I opened an etsy store a while back and hated the name, too.  I ended up changing my email on that profile to an old unused account and then using my main email to open up the new shop.  It worked just fine, though I guess I'm a little late in the telling.
