I made this poppet for mamarose in the Poppet vs. Amigurumi swap.  It was my 1st time ever making a poppet.  I'm pretty proud of her.  I didn't think I'd like making poppets, but, I had a lot of fun making her.  My partner's themes were cats and roses.  2 ideas popped into my head as soon as I saw her themes.  I pictured this poppet, which I named Rose in honor of her new mother.  She is, in fact a rose.  I cut petals from red felt and hand sewed them to her head for her "hair".  Then I cut leaves from green felt and hand sewed them to her body for her "clothes".  Thought I was pretty clever.  I didn't have to make her a wig or clothes.  I suck at making clothes.  Sad  The strings that I sewed and knotted around her ankles are supposed to represent roots.  I tried really hard to make her look more like a flower, rather than a poppet/person.  Her facial features are simple.  I hope you all enjoy her, as much as I enjoyed making her.  I think I'll make more poppets in the future.   Grin

I love her!   The color of her skin and the leaves are beautiful.

She's lovely. Your idea of making the hair rose petals is really neat.

Oh wow, that's really neat. I have not had the courage to try my had at poppets. I love the technique of stitching the felt on. Fun.

I started my first poppet today and he/she won't be this great but hey it's been a couple of years since I've sewn. Great job!   I will post pics of mine soon.
