A couple of years ago I volunteered at the Cascades Raptor Center. While there I managed to take quite a few photographs of the resident and rehab birds. I use them as references for my art. Here is one of my favorites. This piece is painted with acrylics. The owl figure was sewn on my machine then glued and stitched down to the painted canvas. I made the leaves with wire, fabric, and ribbon. (Ludi, you might recognize these leaves. I used some left-over ones that I had on the spirit doll I made for you.) I added more paint after everything was attached. In the upper-right all the filigree actually spells out the word "owl" in gold if you can read it. Wink

Here is a picture of the whole clutch. These owls were all from the same nest. They were released shortly after this and hopefully are living out very full-filling owly lives here
