Hi all!  I made a skirt and (stupidly) put a dart in the backside that was too short. Instead of trying it on after sewing the dart, I (stupidly) added the waist band and called it good.  Well. I went to try it on, and, well...you know what's coming.  There is a ridiculous pucker at the end of the dart.  Is there any way to salvage this?

Of course the RIGHT way is to remove the waistband, but I'm sensing you don't want to do that.

Put the skirt on inside out, and use pins to extend the dart where you want it.  Hand baste the dart, check fit.

If  you like it, you can do a sturdy handstitch OR see if you can get it into your machine to stitch.  If the fabric is tightly woven, it might help to snip the top of the dart to release it from the waistband to make it easy to stitch.

Thanks!  I ended up doing the right thing and just taking off the waistband.  I knew I would never be happy otherwise.
