This is a blanket that took me roughly two months to make.  It is for my son to celebrate his getting his own apartment.  I didn't mean to make it this big, but it is, and boy is it HEAVY!  I have to figure out how to get it to him, and he doesn't live close by and I would have to put it in a garbage bag to transport it!  Roll Eyes

love the nautical color theme!  It is very modern looking for a young man's apartment!  I am sure he will appreciate the weight and size of it when winter comes along! Grin

Awwww....you made me grin! <-----> Grin

Thank goodness the grocery store near me now sells those reusuable bags-in a new HUGE size!  It's what I'm going to have to use to bring his blanket into Brooklyn in on Friday.

Love the colours! Smiley have you thought about vacuum seal bags? They come in massive sizes and you can suck all the extra air out lol

Awwww....thanks, blupaisan!  I actually caved and just put it in the reusuable bag I bought to use for school.  I'll just have to buy another one.  I hadn't thought of the vacuum seal bags, but I would need a handle to carry it.  We're taking the train to visit him and then walking to his apartment.

You know, that kid has gotten me to do many things that I would not have otherwise tried.

When I was 15, I suffered from agoraphobia, depression, and anxiety that I couldn't even leave the livingroom couch in my parents home by myself.  When I was 17, I could travel to NYC only if my boyfriend and mom came with me (a group of us from a club in school went).  At 41, I've never traveled on a train alone, responsible for how to get there and get back.  It's because of him that I try new things at this age.

If I could be like Rumplestilskin and turned straw into gold yarn, I would have used that to crochet his blanket with.  He deserves it.
