I found this fantastic moustache and top hat fabric at Joann's and my daughter had been asking me to make her a dress.  This is what I came up with:





I started with a Simplicity Cynthia Rowley pattern (2215H), but I couldn't get the bodice to fit correctly.  So I ended up making a bodice pattern by copying a dress that my daughter already owned.  And just used the skirt pattern from 2215H.  But, of course, I started the project and then got sidetracked for several months (sorry dd!) and when I finally got back to it, the top no longer fit!  This turned out to be a design advantage as I added in the button placket with the black trim and I think it really made the dress!



Fortunately, she thinks so too!  I need to find a picture with her wearing it!

I love that fabric!!! I'm not a dress person, but I would FIND a reason to wear that dress  Cheesy Your daughter is lucky!!
