My step-dad makes a wreck of his shirts whenever he is working on a project and my mom is forever on him about wrecking his good shirts. So, a couple of years ago, I made him a set of shirts and I gave my mother specific instructions that he was allowed to wreck them. It is now a tradition, but this year, they weren't ready (the design was ready, but the stencil wasn't cut- freezer paper cut with the Silhouette). My mom said that I should just give him the plain shirts because he needed them, but then I knew that they'd be indistinguishable from his "good t-shirts" and he'd just get yelled at for wrecking them. This way, everyone knows that these are his work shirts. The funny thing is that he wears them out and about and people have asked them for a business card so he can do work for them! Every year, the design is different- Acme Demolition Company (1st year), Jim's Fix-It (2nd year), Jim's Repair Shop (3rd year).

I really like this. You did a really good job with them. It's a very good idea, too.

Thanks! And, it really does make his life easier because he knows he doesn't have to be careful when he's wearing them Smiley

Brilliant!  My father in law could really use something like this!  I'll have to remember for next Christmas.  We often get him t-shirts as he always has wrecked ones that need replacement, but ones that are FOR wrecking....perfect!

Thanks! And, even though my mom is a big thrift store shopper, somehow, those shirts can't be the ones he wrecks. I probably should make him a set for Christmas, too, that way he can have an extra set. I just have to come up with a new design!

What an awesome idea!  And I love how it's become a tradition and that you change it up each year.

My mom has a habit of buying me tee shirts when she is on vacation, but I just don't wear logo shirts or unisex shirts, so she understands that they will become work shirts (I am a decorative painter) and is happy to contribute to my work wardrobe.

Thank you! It's fun to come up with new designs, and I love when I see him actually wearing one, and it's filthy!
