I made this a while back and found the pictures while backing up my hard drive.  This was made from a cotton mans handkerchief that was embroidered from a pattern from a Dover book using silk ribbons.  I folded the handkerchief and draped it around a Barbie doll.  It uses snaps in the back and the rest of the handkerchief is like a train in the back.

Close up of embroidery.

Thanks for looking!

Wonderful embroidery work on the dress--I don't think I'd ever have the patience to do something that intricate!

The dresses I made are still unused.  I was making them for a Barbie Altrusa tree.  The goal was to dress at least 8 Barbies in embroidered, knitted and crocheted clothes to go with the Christmas Tree.  But I got caught up in my friends "Marie Antoinette Christmas tree and never finished my own.  Maybe I can give them to my great-great  nieces instead

Thanks everyone for commenting, I appreciate it!

Oh man, you beautifully combined my love of embroidery and doll clothes! The stitching is really quite lovely. I really love the pattern, and have been wanting to make something similar. Thanks for sharing,!

I love those silk ribbon roses.  This is such a lovely design for a doll dress. Really pretty.

Thank you all for your kind comments.  Silk ribbon embroidery and in particular the spider roses are very easy to do and I hope you will all try it someday.
