I made this a while back and found the pictures while backing up my hard drive.  This was made from a cotton mans handkerchief that was embroidered from a pattern from a Dover book using silk ribbons.  I folded the handkerchief and draped it around a Barbie doll.  It uses snaps in the back and the rest of the handkerchief is like a train in the back.

The dresses I made are still unused.  I was making them for a Barbie Altrusa tree.  The goal was to dress at least 8 Barbies in embroidered, knitted and crocheted clothes to go with the Christmas Tree.  But I got caught up in my friends "Marie Antoinette Christmas tree and never finished my own.  Maybe I can give them to my great-great  nieces instead

Oh man, you beautifully combined my love of embroidery and doll clothes! The stitching is really quite lovely. I really love the pattern, and have been wanting to make something similar. Thanks for sharing,!

I love those silk ribbon roses.  This is such a lovely design for a doll dress. Really pretty.
