Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I am organizing the pendent swap right now and it was in the process of making my contribution for that swap that I came up with these.

This is a flower necklace I made myself.  It is made of three of the leather flower pendents strung together on aged copper chain with lobster clasps on either end of the flower piece - that way I can take it off and put it on a shorter chain for a bracelet, or as a shawl clasp, or to put in my hair - I like multi purpose.

It came about after making these...

I have some great leather scraps that I love the colour of, but are too thin for some of the other projects I like to do with leather.  I die cut them with a flower die I have, and layered the pieces together.  I felt just doing that was a bit too flat, so I cut some brass and copper discs, and dapped them to give them a bowl shape.  I punched holes through them all in the centre.  I layered the flower pieces between two pieces of dapped metal, and attached them with a teeny tiny screw and nut.  After trimming the screw post, I riveted the end a bit to make sure it is secure.  I added an eyelet on one petal to add jump rings.  Two eyelets on petals for the flower necklace.

I love the juxtaposition of the metal on the leather - the industrial on the natural (the metal/screw/nuts in a flower).

I especially love having another use for my stash of leather scraps!

Here are some of my blogs posts for some of the details and more pics...

Thank you - they are thin, supple, and super soft pieces of suede and leather.
