Can I have some fishy crackers?

So we are having a small human in August (!!) and this was the very first project I did for the nursery, and I actually started it back in...March? Yes, March. Goodness. I'm behind. ANYWAY. It was originally an old Broyhill TV cabinet and I fell in love with over the front detail...lattice...stuff.

I loved that it had drawers inside, since the closets in our house are few and far between and also tiny. We talked the owner into giving it to us for half off due to some extensive cosmetic damage and scored it for less than $30! Yay! Both of the legs looked like this and the rest of the veneer was peeled and cracked in a thousand different places.

So we wood puttied, glued, and eventually used Bondo on about every square inch of the sides...sanded it good, primed, painted (oops paint from Lowe's...$5!) and ended up with this!

It wasn't working for me plain green like that so I went back and modpodged fabric in between the molding on the front, as well as building a back piece (with fabric on it as well) for it.

I also found the cutest little drawer pulls at a discount store in town!

After everything, we ended up with this!

I absolutely love it! I can't wait to finish the nursery now...with 3 weeks to go! haha!

I love how bright and happy it is! The fabric is an awesome addition! It brings it together and really makes it pop!
