I was lucky enough to have worked on the full size cake so crafting this mini was especially fun. I used some of the same decorating techniques I used on the real one.

Tiny vs. real

From Charm City Cakes West Instagram

Dragon. Not as difficult as I imagined. used wire armature and just sculpted gray clay and textured it.

First time making a castle and I'm very pleased. I found that simply cutting rectangle shapes and rolling them makes a nice clean pillar shape. I'm not quite happy with the lines and texture. I just used black paint and pressed it on with wire. Then pastels to dirty it up.

Painting the metallic parts were my favorite. Just Mona Lisa metal powder mixed with lacquer.

Lovely work, I love that you've got all the details of the original in and the castle is amazing.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.
