For the past 4 years I've built fairy houses on my property and people come and wander and poke and look. Here are photos from this years set up...

We have a little mailbox attached to an old maple tree. The fairies leave personalized mail for the kiddos that visit.

There is always extra smudged mail at the house so no kids are disappointed if there isn't mail waiting for them.

These little cocooned babies were a BIG hit with the kids who visited today. They were sleeping quietly in old mossy tree stumps.

Oh, wow, that is absolutely gorgeous!
(And you live beautifully too.)
It must be so much fun, watching the excitement of the kids.

These are so wonderful and sweet. People who do things like this for kids just out of fun, are so few. Lovely memory for the wee ones. Smiley

These are amazing! I would love to wander around looking at all the beautiful fairy holes! The fairy mail to the kids is so cute and I'm sure they treasure the letters!

Awww, I love, love, love your fairy garden so much!! I'd love to take a fairy tour and explore it all by myself. Who wouldn't want to receive mail from the fairies?!?!

Amazing, you rock for making this and letting the kids enjoy it all!  Shocked

Thanks everyone! It is sooooo much fun Smiley

One little girl was keeping a very close eye on those baby fairies and kept checking on them. When she went back for another look one was in a slightly different position and started exclaiming "IT MOVED! IT MOVED!". Very, very rewarding to have reactions like that Smiley

You bring such magic to the world. I love all the details, especially the smudged mail for the unexpected kids so that no one's forgotten.

You are such an inspiration!  I think sometimes we adults forget the joy of make-believe and discovery...finding these treasures would be wonderful for all!

I really like the mail box...kids rarely get any mail...and adults get junk and bills! Grin

I love the idea about the smudged mail! Your garden is so amazing. I moved into a home with a big Japanese garden last year. I have NO gardening skills, but in an attempt to get me out there more I started making places for the fairies. Next year will be my big year for it. You are such an inspiration! I love the idea with the boot house. I'll have to try that one.
 Love it all!

This project stirs a little flutter in my tummy. It's magical for adults but I know as a child, I would have been so filled with wonder and excitement.

Congratulations on being featured in the best of list for 2014!!
