So I attempted a "gradient" of sorts. Didn't quite turn out the way i wanted, but i like it none the less.

This hat was part of a set. With this scarf.

Did you use a specific pattern on the hat, or just made it up? It looks like there's drop stitches, is that what you did?

What size needles did you use?  I like the loose knit ... and the gradient idea!  You made a lovely set for your friend.

alwaysinmyroom i actually used a knifty knitter. Thats what made the loose look on it.

soozeq I just made up the color portion and e-wrap stitch around the loom. Nothing too fancy.

Really?  I have only made the regular hats with it...did you just skip a few of the pegs to give that look?  It is really quite lovely!

No I didnt actually. Maybe it was the ewrap stitch?  all of my hats tend to have that loose look though.

I see the difference now!  I use two strands to make tight beanies...I am going to try this with just one strand...thanks for the info...I normally just knit, but I still like using my loom as well...

Oh! Yeah that would definitely do it! I love the loose look so i tend to use only one strand. For the pink/black parts(intermediate part) there were two strands though.
