I think it has been some time since there has been a bird swap. And well, since birds are kind of my thing, I would like to propose that we make it happen again. I am thinking 3D birds mostly. Felted, stitched, sculpted, embroidered... Anyone interested, anyone, anyone? Grin

Here are some stellar birds from around Crafster:

I might be interested.  I have a couple of patterns for stuffed animal birds.  One is an awesome pelican, one is an awesome owl, another is a pelican more for a kid.  Of course, I could try my hand at sculpture too.

I love pelicans! Probably just because I like to have an excuse to say "gular".  Grin

Yes! awhile ago I would have been pretty scared of the 3D aspect, but in the last month I've knitted two bats and two snails, and now knitting stuffie-type things has become pretty addictive! Ravelry has a really wide selection of patterns and inspiration... Grin

I have a friend who is a knitting goddess, one of those people who can look at something and figure out how to knit it, who raves about Ravelry. I've heard nothing but good things about that site, I've just never learned to knit. Smiley And... 3D is a loose term. I'm sure embroidery would fit in. I am considering making it a medium plus a small swap to allow for a 2D item, or little pin or notecard set or something of the like. Fun and loose, with a bird on it. Grin

Oh Candice, then you would LOVE the pelican pattern that I have!  Here is a pic of a pelican I made from the pattern.

Oh, I would just DIE to get a knitted bird!  I neither knit or crochet.  I tried to teach myself how to crochet once.  But, my chain kept coming unraveled.  So, I threw it all on the floor, stomped my foot, pouched my bottom lip out, pouted, and then never tried it again!   Cheesy  I go to Ravelry, drool, pin a bunch of stuff, then hope I get a swap partner that can knit or crochet.   Grin

*gasp* Oh wow! I do love that! I don't knit and it's been years since I've crocheted, but I can put a bit of clay and cloth together like nobody's business!  Wink Can we just swap now?  lol Grin

Gotgrey, I had the same reaction to trying to crochet, twice. I don't know why, knitting (which wasn't easy to learn) is just more natural feeling to me I guess. Of course I LOVE anything crocheted...
