We were talking about an ongoing inchie swap over on the twinches swap thread. Here are some thoughts that I have about it.

We run it like the ongoing wish swap. You basically swap for the person above you. You can jump in at any time. FOC will have three picks, regular members will have two and newbies will have one. You have two weeks to ship out. In your post you would give a little bio about yourself and then list at least 10 ideas someone can choose from for stitching.

I hope this makes sense. Does anyone else have ideas?

That sounds perfect to me  Cheesy

Only one other thought - I know people are finishing and presenting their inchies differently....should we agree to all send our inchies unmounted/unfinished or set a standard finishing method, or something like that?

I think unmounted is the way to go. It also allows quicker turn around time.

This would be cool for another low-overhead swap like the ATCs I can jump on whenever I have a little free time. Smiley

Would it be done like ATCs where no tracking is required?

I would require tracking. It kind of sucks going to the post office, but I am running into people who didn't use tracking numbers and are now having to remake the item because it was lost. So absolutely yes on the tracking number.

I've never done an OWS, but think I'd be interested in joining if this one starts.

This sounds wonderful, but balancing the 5 swap limit and all the amazing swaps we have going right now might mean I have to pass it up for now.

I'd love to join but is international accepted? We don't have the tracking option you guys have though, so I'd guess I'd be out. Well there is tracking but it is ridiculous and I couldn't afford that regularly.

Oh well, maybe I can stalk for private swaps... Can't do anything til August anyway.

Keen to see what you guys make, the twinchies swap has been wonderful to watch!

You could still do it, you would just need to show proof that you sent.

I would definitely be up for this.  Love the idea of jumping in when I can and stepping back when I can't.

Just bumping this thread - any thoughts on doing a Round 2 of the embroidered inch or twinchie swap, or ongoing??  Grin

I've done that format of swap with the atc's and I really like it.  You can jump in when you see someone has a theme that really calls to you, and you craft as soon as you claim.  I'd be in.

Could finishing be an option you discuss with your partner? I like someone finishing it up for me with a little hanger and their name or something of the sort. I display little bits of art on their own tucked into nooks on my shelves or hung on the wall wherever there is an opening. I understand if others want a matching look for all their pieces but I love the variety represented when I showcase different artists. *shrug* Just a late-night-rambling thought. Wink

How about when you put your interest in you little bio you can put whether or not you want it finished. So it would look like this:

Hi my name is Pam, I like to sing really loud in the car, dogs, and crafting......my interests are:
pink
cowboys
dogs
I would love either cross stitch or embroidered pieces
The piece for me doesn't have to be finished, I want to frame them myself.

preg_replace('/(.{49})/', '$1 ', '_________________________________________________________________________')

Then SheepBlue decides to pick me and she puts up her list and then so on and so on and so on....

Basically just like the ongoing wish swap. You can jump in anytime, if you are an FOC you get three picks and one time, regular members two-you get two weeks to stitch.
