Your thread painting is becoming quite good, Abbeeroad!  Love the playful design and the theme...

Wulf, love the birds and the stitching and the beading...something I have no patience with!

Abbeeroad, sketching with thread and doing it so well....I love the fun page.

Madcrafter, that's about the standard process I go through. Start with the basic idea, think about it, add some more, think about it, add some more...eventually stop and send. I'm glad you stretched your wings on this swap, that's what it is all about for me, trying new ideas, techniques, seeing new and fresh designs and creations. This is the best place to try out our crazy ideas...and be accepted and loved for what we do. I like the free form feel of your piece, yet it is also very deliberate. I do love goddesses!

Ah! So many awesome pages!! Love the goddess, the birds, and the house!!

I'm up north for a family reunion for the weekend. Sharalee your page might be there when I get back on Sunday. I'll let you know as soon as I get home!!

ETA: oh! And thanks always! Though I have to say I cheated a bit. I pinned a printed image to the paper, sewed over the edges, and then tore away the paper. I don't think I could do that freehand...yet! Wink

shhh Abbeeroad....no need telling all the secrets! Grin...that is a cool technique...I am going to have to try that for more difficult pieces...

so many things to try...I want to do a beaded fabric page for sure as well...maybe just a little beading to start!

That is not cheating! That is smart. And there are people who with a printed out pattern still could not follow the lines (me...I'm always trying to improve!). As in all crafts and art, the artist puts something special even into a tracing. Well done.

very cool abbeeroad, I like your technique and your result, well done!

The house page is also so sweet and great colours.

Wulf that bird page for Smmarrt is gorgeous, the composition and the use of beading are fantastic.

I received from alwaysinmyroom.  I absolutely love this fabulous GoT piece.  She also sent some fabric for me to craft my own pages.

Thank you!

Are those tiny bugle beads as leaves on the Winter tree? Brilliant!!!

Here's another shot of the "Dawn Chorus" page, that shows the colours a bit better:

And now I'm worried that fancybutch's envelope hasn't arrived yet. Of all the ones to go wrong. Angry

Wulf, if I had bugle beads, I would have used them....but unfortunately, it is just pearl cotton embroidery thread using the "stab" stitch".

Nice to see the birds are on a printed fabric...I thought they were black painted!  Wonderful!

I'm so awed by all the thought and work everyone has put into these pages. I think we are all going to have some wonderful Fabric Art Journals when they are all finished.
I don't know, do we ever finish? It seems to me I just want to continue making and adding more pages Grin
