First off, let me apologize for the yellowed images. I packed this up early in the morning to send it to my swap partner that afternoon. I did not have the time to photograph this in better light.

I made this using a cardboard food canister for whey protein, use what you've got! (I wish I had taken process pictures. Next time.) First I attached a cut toilet paper tube and longer paper towel tube as branches. I then rolled sections of newspaper, wrapped them in masking tape and taped them down as roots, around the windows and door then as longer sections weaving up and down wherever they fit. I covered the whole thing in plaster wrap after that, let it dry then proceeded to paint it with about six different colors, if I remember correctly. Then I sprayed lacquer over the whole thing, twice, before adding all the decorations inside and out. The little dresses I stitched out of bits of fabric scrap and ribbon. I'd love to make something like this again. Perhaps next time I'll photograph the process and make a tutorial. Grin Enjoy!

Thank you!

And you should make some. Wink I had intended to paper mache over the newspaper layer but had the plaster wrap on-hand and knew it would be quicker. A whole village of differently shaped and sized stumps would be awesome!

It would be so much fun to make a whole village of stumps of different sizes and shapes!  I've been dabbling in paper mache lately.  In fact, I'll be working on a paper mache project this weekend.  I just love getting all messy!   Grin  I'm such a little kid!

This is so wonderful I love it. Such tiny little details and I adore the wee dresses hanging inside.
