I have gotten tons done in the last few days so I should be mailing out one of my partners patches tomorrow Smiley  All I have to do is sew the edges down on one of the patches....then I move on to my other partner woop woop

Oh, and I have always machine sewn my pouches, and then handsewn the edges. It helps me keep everything as level as I can.  But I've actually only sewn 6 patches now so that could always change Wink

I had to work on my class ALL day today (I started at 6:30 am and finished {well, I have 1 assignment left} at 10:15 pm), so no crafting happened. But, after I turn in that last assignment, I can do some patch preparations tomorrow afternoon. I think they'll be my airplane/airport project instead of the in-the-car project, just to be safe (and not get car sick).

I also always machine sew my patches first then sew the edges by hand; it helps keep everything firm and together. Though I'm sure it nicely stays together the way Sharalee does it, being the klutz I am, it'd be way to much of a problem for me to try and keep it together while hand-sewing the edges - even with pins! Wink

I cut out a bunch of fabric pieces today - don't have any specific plans for them all at the moment, but I've got a few ideas that I'm excited about!

That's a good idea to machine sew. I did hand sew first the 2 fabrics together all around like I said,  but I saw someone else skip it & just fold the edges over & pin down & that's what I've been doing for awhile, it works pretty good. I love to hand sew it's very calming to me!  I can make a doll,  pouches, stuffies by hand & clothes & love it! But that's just me!

I also started sewing mine by machine and stopped when I saw that others just folded them over and did a wide whip stitch. It works for me and without the machine sewing they are truly a portable craft. I like to take them along with me while I am waiting for appointments or on my lunch break.

oh yesterday was a good inspiration day, first I went into a fabric store for buttons and was drawn to some great ______________ I wasn't looking for, and then laying in bed I had the idea to use it with a _________ design that would make a great patch!  can't wait to make it now.  Smiley

Sharalee I'm like you!  I love to sew by hand!  It is very therapeutic for me as well.

I have one patch finished, i'm working on the design for another, but I'm not sure it will work out so I may need to play with it a bit.

fancybutch, such a tease! Smiley

And, I'm looking forward to packing up my little busy bag of TM patches! I just have to go and test out a contraption I had to build (shouldn't take long... It will probably break pretty quickly!), and submit the report. Then, my table is all set up so I can start doing some cutting and sewing!

Since someone is close to sending, and I'm worried that I will be totally buried once my class starts, I made the gallery already! And, I used the fabulous patch that roler made for me (we did a private swap because she couldn't participate in this round) as the gallery starting post image. I <3 it!

Check out the gallery!

Well, I don't know where the time went... but I did manage to print out all of my reference images at the proper size, and then, I picked out all of the fabrics for each patch, and then I cut and pinned them. But, it's after 10 pm, and I have to locate a bag of yarn to leave for my sister tomorrow. I have a rough idea of where it is, but not an exact idea...

So, perhaps tomorrow morning I can sew and stuff the pillows. I think I'll set up the sewing machine tonight, so all I'll need to do tomorrow is sit down at it and sew!
