Sorry that I haven't posted here yet.  I really don't know what happened.  So this is my message to say I'm working on the TM patches and finding them a bit difficult.  I need to ease up a bit and have more fun playing with them.  The fabric store had a large purchase from me this week because I don't have a lot of fabric.

I have been following the group and I am also very concerned with whether the next generation will craft.  So I started a blog with the idea that it will be here when my nephews and nieces start to craft.  Hopefully to be an inspiration to them to use their creativity.  Just this week a niece and I created a wonderful bracelet.  I know it is unlikely that she will keep making jewelry but she will have that memory and someday may take up jewelry making or another craft.  But I did tell her that now she had to teach someone else.

Well back to working on my patches!

I am late in posting, but I am planning my patches. I am so glad to have another TM swap to craft for. I have two planned and am still thinking about the others. I will probably make some up this weekend. I already can't wait to see the gallery entries.
I hope everyone enjoys making their patches. Don't stress Madcrafter, these are supposed to be fun. You can't go wrong. There are some great patches in the gallery that are just two fabrics with some stitching and maybe a button or two. It's nice to see new people start making patches.

alright in my series of swaps Smiley I have now finished the fabric journal art pages and can turn my attention this weekend to tm patches!  Very excited for some patches fun.  I've picked a couple of my partners themes that jumped out at me and am still brewing ideas, might need a bit more fabric.

Multi crafting for different swaps this weekend I think. Now the question... Do you sew the back and front together and then fold over, or do you only sew when doing the folding over?

I see the front and back together and then fold over. That way, I don't have to fuss with the 2 layers shifting (or stuffing falling out) while I'm doing the folded over stitching.

I used to sew first but then decided I could pin it down & save a little time it works pretty good that way. Also if you need to adjust something you can. But we each have our own way of doing this.

I sew first and then let it roll. I don't fold.
