Ooh. That is really neat! Cicadas are one of my favorite insects.

This swap sounds pretty much perfect! I love all insects!

Well, for no sensible reason I freak out when daddy long legs (crane fly) are in the same room as me, but apart from that... Cheesy They're just so unpredictable, one minute they're on the ceiling and the next they're doing a slow fly-by of your face Roll Eyes

Ohh, I had a newly molted cicada on my tent the other week. Very fresh and new and slow. Very cool. Better than the mouse that was running up and down and over the tent one night...outside it, but still. Ewww.

Pretty cool picture!  I find the shells, but have not seen a molting one in ages...I am pretty sure I want to make something to honor the ever increasing population of stink bugs in our area...they are pretty amazing creatures with a fearsome look...and bug spray will not kill them, just squishing them (which then stinks for a bit)...

We now have to do this swap this fall for sure!

I can't stand crane flies!  They fly right into my hair and then all their legs fall off...AAARRGGHHHH!  I know that sounds odd, but they are the only ones (besides ridiculously large spiders romping free through my house..) that make me run and squeal...as much as I ever squeal.  I prefer to think I sound more like Godzilla Grin

I had to google "crane fly" because I had never heard of them. When the pictures came up I thought, wait, those are mosquito eaters! lol. That's what I've called them since I was a kid. It never occurred to me that they might have a "real" name. lol

I know exactly how you feel, suereal! I think it's the slowness and the dangley legs, and wanting to be in your face. Ugh! I didn't know their legs could just fall off though. Poor things!

Maybe I need to make some wire versions into a hanging mobile so I can get used to them and they don't freak me out so much Cheesy

I've been obsessed with ladybirds this summer since we had them on our sweetpeas. I never really thought how they grow, so it was interesting to see them develop from larvae to pupa to adult!

We get massive infestations of ladybugs/birds!  It seems to come every three years or so...they are one of my favorites as well...I can see narrowing down bugs can be a problem in this swap! Grin

I like your idea of a mobile!

Perhaps we could narrow the theme to making insects that we are mostly afraid of...it might be good therapy for us! Grin
