Los Angeles Pride was coming up, so I decided my daughter needed a (duh) rainbow skirt to wear. I picked out the ROYGBIV colors from the quarters' section at the fabric store, cut them into two inch strips and then sewed them all together. Initially, I was going to make it with an elastic waist, but then I decided to make it slightly harder on myself (something I'm apparently really good at) and do a buttoned waistband instead. Of course, my machine is a complete a-hole when it comes to doing buttonholes through more than two layers of fabric, so the top buttonhole was done (not very well) by hand. I also lined the skirt with a vintage sheet to make sure it wasn't see-through.

And an action shot from the day's festivities:

great job on the skirt...good idea to just go around and pick out fat quarters...they are arranged in rainbow at the store already so it is at least ONE thing you made easy for yourself! Cheesy
