I wanted to  make this lovely top since last year, but I didn't have time, and when I had again, it was not the season anymore.

So I got ready for it, but I wanted to make a muslin first. Except I didn't have muslin materials and I didn't want to buy anything.

My husband donated my few stained shirts few months ago.... I had lightish material.
For the inside I had an old dress to cut from.

And the back, the blue I love, is from a sari.

The pattern is Datura, from Deer&Doe. More pics and info http://theaoz.wordpress.com/2014/06/08/datura-chemisesari/ Smiley

What a lovely neckline. It looks quite tricky to sew.  The blue fabric is beautiful.

Thanks Smiley

Yes this blue is wonderful, I just to love to wear this top because of this.

The neckline could be tricky but the pattern is very well explained.
I'll make another one with another neckline soon. And still something light for the bottom. Like that it holds on top and fly at the bottom, perfect for summer Smiley

This is so creative, I love the idea. It is also a good way to salvage some old clothes that aren't really used anymore

I love the neck line and how the back of this shirt opens up. Look beautiful on you. Did you have to line the top with anything?

Yes the top is lined with very light cotton ( a former dress).

But what makes it staying flat of my chess is the firm shirt material. I made two other versions of this top and none fell like this.

It's a pattern you can get (Deer& Doe pattern) but I just changed the back.
