between school & work, it's been awhile.
but i'm back and posting!
a dear friend of mine got married in march, and i began planning this quilt for her & her now dh back in october when my cousin was visiting from colorado.
one out of town joann's trip later, quite possibly my largest fabric purchase (for one project at a time) yet!
i used a sheet for the back. chopped and pieced to make long enough to fit the backing.
very pleased with how this one turned out Smiley

i despised those flowers, but my cousin twisted my arm in to using that print... and it turned out much better than expected.

oodles of photos over on my blog post for this quilt right here Smiley

Lovely quilt.  It looks like it was a lot of work.   I really like the pattern that gives the illusion of curves from straight log piecing.

I love the colors you used. The quilt is such a beautiful gift. I still haven't finished my own two quilts after years, so I can't imagine cranking out a queen sized one in about half a year. Thanks for sharing! You've done an amazing piece of work.

Good color mix!

Sometimes prints we don't like a lot simply blend in once the quilt is completed...those flowers barely are noticeable as the overall quilt is quite striking!

What a lovely (belated) gift--I am sure the wait will be worth it for your friend to have a handmade quilt made with love and care!

thanks so much everyone!

it was pretty brutal to knock this out in the time span with school, finals, work and everything inbetween.
it did get to the point of asking my mom if it was taboo to give a late wedding gift.  lol
basting it for quilting was the worst part...
this is what our kitchen looked like for about a week just to baste it all...
at least my mom got a clean kitchen floor out of the deal Tongue

That's a great quilt - it looks really chic and smart!  Smiley  (Also, you're totally not the most belated wedding-quilt maker here!  XD)
