I am still very much a learner sewer -but my mum kind of requested a handmade handbag for her birthday - so I came up with this! There are a few mistakes - but it was the most complicated bag I have tried yet - and overall I am pleased with it.

MY mum took the photos, in reality the handle completes a circle with the bag body - but it looks floppy in the pictures - blame the photographer Wink

the main bit I am unhappy with is the interfacing showing on the lining/handle (the big white bit!) I really struggled with the lining/handle!

I love the style of the bag and the fabrics. Isn't it cool when your Mom wants you to make something. LOL! I am sure she loves it. It looks great.

I, for one, am in LOVE with the bag you made me Rat!! <3 I use it far more than any other bag I've gotten. It's SOOOOO pretty and this one is just as awesome!! I like the consistency of the fabric for the handle and sides. Very cute touch  Cheesy I bet your mom is in love with it too!

Thanks guys Smiley

I declared at the beginning of the year every present I gave to anybody this year was going to be handmade - she has already had loads of my soap and jewellery so it was cool to have a suggestion for something different to make for her! The problem is she now keeps saying I should sell stuff - I don't have the heart to tell her all the materials etc cost over 60! Think I would be making a pretty big loss lol!

So pretty!  Cheesy   Do you have a link to the pattern?  I made a similar one but it doesn't have a zipper and I would like it to zip closed.
