Anyone else have a drop-side crib? Now that they are illegal, we can't give it away. I used the long sides of ours to make this outdoor tent for my youngest.

I used zip ties to make the basic shape I wanted and then drilled on a couple of pieces of wood I tore out of the drawer to make the basic frame.

The fabric is 2.5 yards of picnic table fabric ($3.99/yard), which I folded in half lengthwise and threaded through the slats. I then was kind of winded... I intended to use velcro to complete the project (so I could launder the covering). Instead I called on my best friend, Ms. Glue Gun.

The whole project took about an hour, and the only thing I bought was the fabric. I'm thinking it should do pretty well in the outdoor weather on our back porch.

Hope this is helpful. I bet you folks could make some amazing tents!

It looks like a place your little girl can have a lot of fun! (And point for re-using).
